This time, we are the horses: the disruption of labor by humanoid robots
In the early 1900s it took just 13 years for cars to replace horses. In the early 2000s humans are the horses, and are about to be replaced by robots.

This newsletter is about the Three Strikes that take small and large companies down, and the Three Strokes that can make startups and trillion dollar companies win.
To survive we need to identify when a strike has occurred and take action as if we had the benefit of hindsight.
To thrive, we need to align to the future and the technology trends that disrupt and create opportunity
Over the last few months I have written about the future and the coming disruptions of the foundational sectors of the economy.
I have introduced you all to Tony Seba and RethinkX. They have demonstrated again and again that the cost curves associated with the convergence of technology trends accurately predict the future.
They have also demonstrated that things change quickly:
13 years for precision fermentation to replace animal insulin
and that most major disruptions across all sectors happen in just 10-15 years.

Standing on the shoulders of Tony Seba and RethinkX, I then wrote about the:
Future of Transport, and how a mobility scale up will win in that future
Future of Food, and a startup positioned to supply a key ingredient in that future
Future of Energy, and two mature companies poised to win
In my view, it is very important to form a view of the future and make sure that our ventures are positioned to win.
Thats why today I am sharing Tony Seba’s most recent predictions around the Future of Labour, full link below:

I encourage all of you to read this article in full (and the rest of the outstanding content on RethinkX) because this is a future that is starting to unfold right now.. and will totally disrupt the global labour market over the next 15 years.
Have a look at the Optimus Gen2 humanoid robot that Tesla released in December 2023. Its their 3rd release of a humanoid robot.
And then think about this statement:
“humanoid robots today are the most expensive and least capable they will ever be.” - Tony Seba
Let me know what you think!
